Eating In
All the local towns offer the normal high street shops that you are used to but there are also some really wonderful little artisan shops if you look. Just here in Ipstones we have a wonderful traditional village butcher.
Going a little further afield both Cheadle and Leek have a wonderful selection of artisan food sellers and Leek prides itself on being a "Totally Local" town. Its well worth a days shopping.
You will find plenty of places that sell the traditional Oatcakes but they sell out quickly so shop early for these!

We are blessed with an exceptional selection of Pub restaurants and Cafes within a few miles, some of our favourites are.....
The Fox and Goose, Foxt – 01538 266886 Great food and beer in a really friendly and relaxed environment. Fabulous views in the conservatory or on the patio. Dog friendly in bar. Please ask about current menu and service.
The Marquis of Granby, Ipstones – 01538 266462 Our local and certainly one of our favourites! Good food and beer, recently refurbished bar and restaurant with extensive menu and very friendly service. Dog friendly in the bar area. Monday evening -pie night.
Black Lion, Consall Forge – 01782 550294 beautiful but challenging 3 mile walk or bike ride along the canal towpath. to drive it is a 5 mile detour. Excellent real ales and ciders, also offers pub grub, with specials nights. Perfect for a summer evening early drink and meal, bracing for a winter’s day hike.. This pub is in a most fabulous settings, the beer garden is bordered by the canal, river with weir and the restored, period station of the Churnet Valley steam Railway.

A variety of national supermarket chains will deliver to our accommodation. However, there is a new alternative that we can recommend which directly supports local businesses called SaucedHere.co.uk
The service offers a full basket of products hand sourced from the area’s top purveyors (including meats, milk, cheeses, fruit & veg, drinks, ready meals etc), all made available via one flexible delivery to our property. Even items that are not produced here in the Peak District are purchased from the region’s village shops or alike.
